Violet Family - Violaceae
Both stems and leaves largely devoid of hairs. Yellow flowers with five petals with the lower petal heavily streaked with violet and bearing a basal spur. Leaves are alternate, broad, heart-shaped and toothed. Usually more than one basal leaf (up to five), as well as leaves on the flower-bearing stem.
