The small (about 3/8 inch wide) yellow flowers have four petals and 6 stamens and
form upright terminal clusters. Seedpods are narrow and upright (1 to 1.5 inches
long). The stalked basal leaves are 2 to 5 inches long with 4 to 8 paired lobes
and a large, rounded terminal segment. Stem leaves are somewhat egg-shaped,
coarsely toothed and generally clasp the stem. (Photographed - late May) |
This 1 to 2 foot tall introduced species is common along roadsides and in meadows.
