Many downward facing, ½" long, tubular, purple to bluish, pea-like crowded flowers are borne on one side of a long stalk. (Photographed - July)

A trailing or climbing vine with compound leaves and a tendril at the tip of each leaf.

Leaflets are narrow, about an 1" long and each has a bristle at the tip.
