Male and female flowers minute in a spiral-like arrangement on the flowerhead. The
submerged leaves narrow, 2 to 5 inches long, translucent and forming a basal
rosette. The unbranched roots with many tiny segments. (Photographed - later July) |
An aquatic herb with each plant having a single, small (3/8 to 1/2 inch), compact,
dome-like, white flowerhead on a long stalk, which protrudes 3 to 6 inches above
the water. |
