Rosa virginiana
Rose Family - Rosaceae
Generally a short (under 3 feet), small shrub with pink, usually solitary 5-petalled flowers (about 1.5 inches wide) with many stamens and pistils. Leaves are dull green, pinnately divided with 5 to 9 toothed leaflets. At the base of leaves are narrow stipules. Usually spines below the stipules, but these may be absent and the main stem on older plants with fine prickles. Calyx lobes spreading
