Honeysuckle Family - Caprifoliaceae

Leaves opposite, 2 to 4 inches long, pointed and finely toothed. Leaf stalk (petiole) 1 inch or less in length with flared, wavy margins, i.e., winged, which are brownish in color, and with a shallow groove. (Photographed - late May)

A shrub or small tree of roadsides and woodlands with shallow-domed clusters of uniform, small, white, fragrant flowers without a central flower stalk.
