Gallium mollugo
Bedstraw or Madder Family - Rubiaceae
Small, white, 4-petalled flowers (no sepals) in a loose, branching terminal cluster. Leaves narrow, fairly widely spaced on the stem and in whorls of 7 to 8.

A square-stemmed, generally erect herb but with many stems arising from the base. Stems smooth, but margins of the lower surface of leaves usually with a few hooked prickles.
