Lily Family - Liliaceae
Flowers with 4 equal parts; 2 petals and 2 petal-like sepals. Entire, alternate leaves (1 to 3 inches long) with a heart-shaped base. Fruit initally green, then reddish speckled, and finally becoming red in fall.

A low (2 to 6 inches), 2 to 3 leaved plant with a zig-zag stem topped by a cluster of tiny white flowers.
