Small, pale blue two-lipped flowers with the 2-lobed upper lip split in the middle
and an obvious 3-lobed lower lip. A 6 inch to 3 foot herb with a hairy stem that
is usually branched. A distinctive feature is the swollen calyx (base of flower)
as it becomes a seed pod. Leaves alternate and toothed. Photographed at Eagle Lake, August 2011. |
