Aster or Daisy Family - Asteraceae

Numerous small ( about 1/8 to ¼ inches long) flower heads with barely noticeable white upright ray flowers and more numerous yellow disk flowers. (Photographed – late August)

A tall (2 to 7 feet), upright plant of roadsides and fields with many, narrow, alternate leaves (lower ones may be toothed), a hairy stem and a profusion of branching flower stalks from the upper leaf axils.
