An erect herb 1 to 3 feet tall with 1.5 to 2 inch rose-purple flowers generally with
deeper red veins at the base of each petal. Five petals with a concavity at
the tip. Leaves alternate and toothed with 5 to 7 shallow lobes. (Photographed at a roadside near Eagle Lake - August 8, 2009) |
