A deciduous shrub 3 to 4 feet tall with a somewhat straggling, sparsely branching
growth pattern and green to purplish branchlets. |



Flowers in pairs on long stalks and pale yellow to yellowish green. Flowers tubular
ending in 5 short lobes, each about ½ to ¾ inches long. Fruit as two fused red
berries on a long stalk. Short stalked leaves are paired, egg-shaped to oblong
with entire margins that are fringed with hairs. |
