True forget-me-not

Myosotis scorpioides

Borage Family - Boraginaceae

Upper portion of stem branches into 2 or 3 loose racemes of small (about ¼ to 3/8 inches wide), pale blue flowers with a yellow, eye-like center and 5 petals. Leaves alternate, entire and hairy as is the stem. (Photographed at Eagle Lake - June 24, 2002)

A somewhat weak-stemmed plant generally 6 to 12 inches tall.
