A rigid, green, ridged stem divides above the middle into multiple branches topped by flat clusters of small yellow flowerheads composed of about 8 to 12 disc flowers
and 10 to 20 ray flowers.

Leaves narrow (1/4 to 3/8" wide), entire, 3 to 5" long, tapering to a point and having 3 to 5 parallel veins.
