This 6 to 18 inch tall herb is characterized by its hairy stem and leaves and its insignificant appearing flower heads. Each flower is ¼ inch in diameter with the prominent part being the central yellow disk. The 5 short, spaced, white ray flowers have a three-lobed tip. Leaves are opposite, egg-shaped and coarsely toothed.
