Flowers white to creamy yellow, small (1/6" wide), 5-petalled and numerous in a pyramidal or round terminal clusters.

A 3 to 10' tall shrub with opposite compound leaves with usually 5 but sometimes 7 leaflets that are egg- or lance-shaped and have sharply toothed margins.
