Flowers (about 0.5 inches wide) have 5 notched petals and 5 stamens. The "beak" of
the fruit is elongated. Leaves deeply cut usually into 5 main segments, long
stalked, toothed and with prominent veins and ribs. Stems and stalks finely hairy.

An upright herb (8 to 16 inches tall) with a loose cluster of 2 to 4 (generally 2)
pink flowers on moderately long stalks above the leaves. |
