A low-growing, trailing, evergreen club-moss (a group related to ferns and horsetails), whose creeping stems root at intervals. Stems give rise to upright, forking branches, each covered in by numerous bright green, lance-shaped leaves (about ¼ inch long). Arising from some stems are 1 to 3 elongated, cylindrical spore-bearing cones (strobili) on a long stalk.
