Nightshade Family - Solanaceae |
Hanging from leaf axils are single, stalked, bell-shaped flowers. Each flower is
about ¾ to 1 inch wide, yellow with a brownish center and is edged by 5 shallow
lobes. All parts of this hairy plant produce a sticky sensation when touched.
Leaves are 1 to 4 inches long, egg-shaped, coarsely toothed and usually with a
rounded, but at times heart-shaped, base. (Photographed at Dolman Ridge Road, Ottawa, Ontario - July 6, 2002) |
