Anemone canadensis
Buttercup Family - Ranunculaceae
Midway up the stem are three, whorled, stalkless leaves, which are often deeply lobed. Below the single long-stalked white flower (1 to 1.5 inches wide) may be a pair of smaller leaves.
A 1 to 2 foot tall herb with 1 to 3 stalked, deeply lobed basal leaves.
