Buttercup Family - Ranunculaceae

Basal leaves kidney- to heart-shaped and bluntly toothed, while stem leaves are deeply lobed and divided into narrow to oblong segments.

Flowers small (about 0.25 inches wide) with 5 very tiny, shiny, yellow petals, which are shorter than the backwards curved sepals. (Photographed - May)
