Aster or Daisy Family - Asteraceae
Flower heads with 15 to 30 ray flowers and a brownish-yellow central disk.
Along roadsides and in meadows, this rather bushy aster (1 to 4 feet tall) with smooth to hairy reddish, much branching stems has numerous, small (about inch wide), white flower heads.
Leaves slender, often only lower ones toothed, and with small leaflets at the axils. (Photographed late August)
