Aster simplex or lanceolatus

Sunflower or Composite Family -

Flowerheads (3/4 to 1 inch wide) composed of 20 to 40 white (occasionally slightly violet tinged) ray flowers surrounding a yellow to reddish-brown central disk.

A tall, erect plant with the flowerheads in loose clusters at the ends of branching stems.

Leaves narrow, sharply pointed, alternate and sharply toothed. (Photographed - August)
