Common Rush

A 1.5 to 3 foot tall plant with a predominant narrow, round, striated stem with a few rudimentary basal leaf blades. Tiny flowers are borne singly on a much branched stalk which delicately flares from one side of the stem. The lowest bract projects above the flowers about 2 to 10 inches.
