Grass Family - Poaceae
Flat rough-edged leaves, which are 2 to 3 inches wide and up to 20 inches long, sheath the stem.
An exceptionally tall (6 to 12 feet) grass with strong, smooth stems found in roadside ditches and marshes.
Very tiny flowers are compactly arranged in a much-branched, soft, silky, plume (6 to 12 inches long).
