Red Baneberry
Red Baneberry
Actaea rubra
Buttercup Family - Ranunculaceae
General growth characteristics, flower structure and leaves essentially similar to white banebarry (Actaea pachypoda). The flower cluster in red baneberry tends to be shorter and rounder and the individual flower stalks thinner than those of white baneberry. The latter trait is more noticeable when the berries develop and these are red rather than the white, black-dotted berries of  white baneberry.
